Among all the male protagonists in this novel, Fida was comparatively a better human being, but I remember the way he blackmailed Hiba into marrying him... it was repulsive and totally unacceptable. Marriages without consent, whether it be of bride’s or groom’s, should never be idealized, they are anything but romantic. I wonder, what is the thought process behind it, what’s going on in a writers’ mind while they pen down such uncivilized ideas and then if that is not sickening enough, they pay off the culprit with unimaginable rewards in the end. The girl will always fall madly in love, and they will live happily ever after. I can't even imagine what sort of humans these novels must be bringing up.
I really don't mean to be harsh, but if anybody's reading it out there and it hurts their sentiments, my apologies... my heart shatters while writing this but Zaahir from Noor Muqaddam Case can easily be a hero if a novelist writes about him.

Novels men khawateen ko itna chuee muee, buzdil, or bewaqoof zahir karty huwy, mostly writers ko ye mad e nazaar rakhna zaroori hai k they always have an impact on their readers, much beyond they can even imagine. Agar koi reader directly mutasir Na bhe ho raha ho to bhe Kahin Na Kahin us k subconscious mn woh baat zaroor maujood rehti hai. in 2 or at most five years from today, you’ll be what you’re reading right now. So the readers also need to be very selective of the content they make their eyes even skim through. and writers need to be very careful about what they are writing and hence preaching. please don't normalize behaviors and traits which should never be endured, whatever the circumstances.

Among all the male protagonists in this novel, Fida was comparatively a better human being, but I remember the way he blackmailed Hiba into marrying him... it was repulsive and totally unacceptable. Marriages without consent, whether it be of bride’s or groom’s, should never be idealized, they are anything but romantic. I wonder, what is the thought process behind it, what’s going on in a writers’ mind while they pen down such uncivilized ideas and then if that is not sickening enough, they pay off the culprit with unimaginable rewards in the end. The girl will always fall madly in love, and they will live happily ever after. I can't even imagine what sort of humans these novels must be bringing up.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure you read all the comments above. but if you did... Sometimes, criticism can be hurtful and even demotivating. I didn't mean to do any of that. I hope it was constructive for you and you deal it like it's supposed to be dealt. I hope I was able to communicate my point of view well. Just...please... be careful while you write, I see you have a pretty good fan following. There are many writers who have great influence and convincing power, you all need to be very careful, conscious and responsible with the power you are given. The pen that you hold can make and break generations. you may find it a bit exaggerative but it is a proven, well argued psychological fact.
I am sorry I don't believe I will be able to continue this journey of Shiddat with you, or be able to read any other novelist, at least not in the near future. I even feel ashamed of myself, for no matter how much averse to the very idea, I also read it.
I probably would have stayed passive but these opinions were so disappointing and alarming, I just couldn't stay quiet.
